How to regulate irregular menstruation?

Patient's question:

I had endometrial hyperplasia before marriage. After giving birth to my son, I experienced menstrual irregularities again, which were also caused by endometrial hyperplasia. What methods can I use to regulate it?

Doctor's answer:

Hello: During the ovarian cycle, when follicles develop and mature in the ovary, under the action of estrogen secreted by the ovary, the endometrium exhibits a proliferative phenomenon, known as the proliferative phase of the endometrium. After ovulation, under the action of progesterone and estrogen secreted by the corpus luteum, the proliferative endometrium exhibits a secretory phenomenon, known as the secretory phase of the endometrium. After the corpus luteum degenerates, due to the decrease in the amount of estrogen and progesterone, the endometrium loses support, leading to necrosis and shedding, which manifests as the onset of menstruation. At this time, it is referred to as the menstrual phase of the endometrium.
1. Proliferative Phase: Around days 5–9 of the menstrual cycle, the endometrium is very thin.
2. Secretory Phase: On days 15–19 of the menstrual cycle (1–5 days after ovulation), the endometrium continues to thicken, and the glands further enlarge and become more curved. Around days 20–24 of the menstrual cycle (6–10 days after ovulation), the endometrium exhibits high secretory activity, with the curvature and expansion of the glands reaching their peak. In the late secretory phase, the thickness of the endometrium is about 5–6 mm.
3. Premenstrual Phase: Around days 25–28 of the menstrual cycle (11–14 days after ovulation), the thickness of the endometrium decreases by 1/5 to 1/3.
4. Menstrual Phase: Around days 1–4 of the menstrual cycle, the main changes are bleeding and shedding of the endometrium.
The endometrium undergoes changes during different phases of the menstrual cycle. Your mother's examination results indeed show endometrial thickening. However, the cause of this thickening needs to be comprehensively analyzed based on her actual condition. The treatment plan should be determined after identifying the cause. It is recommended that you go to a formal hospital or directly to my specialized clinic to investigate the cause before further treatment.
