Features: The author of this book, Li Xintian (1167–1244 AD), was a renowned historian of the Southern Song Dynasty. The Song History has a biography of him, but it is unfortunately full of errors. Modern scholars, such as Professor Wang Deyi of National Taiwan University, have written "The Chronology of Li Xiuyan" and "A Study of Li Xintian's Writings" (see the appendices of the Jianyan Era and Later in the Wenhai Publishing House edition), Professor Lai Kehong of Shanghai University has written "A Chronological Compilation of Li Xintian's Life and Works" (published by Bashu Book Company in 1990), and Professor Liang Taiji of Hangzhou University has written "A Brief Study on the Sources of the Two Dynasties' General Outline of History" (Volume 32 of the War and History Studies), all of which have brought new insights into Li Xintian and his works. They are worth referencing together.
