Features: An outstanding and classic logo not only has unique creativity but is also perfect in aesthetics, functionality, and connotative expression. The relationships between the structure, points, lines, and planes of the logo, as well as the use of color, must adhere to the principles of aesthetic form. A logo is a visual language that must be concise, clear, easily recognizable, and memorable. It is also an iconic language, where imagery is used to convey meaning. This expression cannot be separated from human visual perception and recognition habits. Additionally, when designing, one must also consider the logo's need to be used in different environments, occasions, and media.
The history of logos dates back over five thousand years, from early symbols and signs. Many scholars and experts have conducted extensive research and introductions on this topic. The published books on logos have extensively referenced the discussions and viewpoints of experts from various fields. The selected examples and descriptions of outstanding logos are mostly from foreign sources, and the designers' surnames cannot be identified. Here, we sincerely express our gratitude to the authors.
The "Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China" is appended at the end of this book because the author deeply feels that designers should have a better understanding of the "Trademark Law" to better protect their own and others' intellectual property rights, thereby making China's overall design more standardized and diverse.
