Patient's question:
Detailed medical condition and consultation purpose: I want to ask if it can be cured? How long will it take to be cured? How much will it cost?It has been more than half a year.
Doctor's answer:
Regular cervical examinations are very important, not to prevent cervical erosion, but to prevent cervical cancer. The occurrence of cervical cancer is related to the infection of human papillomavirus (HPV). Some high-risk HPV infection patients, when continuously infected at the squamocolumnar junction of the cervix, are prone to precancerous lesions and cervical cancer. Since the introduction of cervical smear tests, the mortality rate of cervical cancer has significantly decreased. The key is early prevention and treatment. Currently, it is recommended that women aged 21 and older should undergo a cervical smear test once a year. After the age of 30, an HPV test can be combined. If both the HPV test and the cervical smear test are negative for three consecutive times, the screening interval can be extended to every three years. Screening can be discontinued after the age of 65.
