In the War of Liberation, he led his troops to assist the Zhongyuan Field Army led by Wang Zhen in breaking through the Central Plains and participated in the battle to liberate Ningxia. He fought in numerous battles and achieved remarkable military honors.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Huang Luobin, who had already held provincial-level leadership positions, abandoned his comfortable life and led the people to start a difficult journey in remote, uninhabited mountains to establish a new industrial city—Baiyin. In 1963, during the "Four Cleanups" movement, he was falsely accused, labeled a "revisionist," expelled from the Communist Party, and persecuted for 16 years. In 1979, after the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China exonerated him, he successively held provincial-level leadership positions in Xinjiang and Gansu, making significant contributions to local development until the very end of his life.
Huang Luobin's life was filled with hardships. Under the erroneous leadership of "Left-leaning adventurists," the Second Red Army marched south to Weihua and was completely annihilated, and Huang Luobin barely survived to return to the base area. In 1935, during the "Rectification Campaign" in northern Shaanxi, he and Liu Zhidan, Xi Zhongxun, and others were imprisoned in a black prison and nearly buried alive. During the Western Fu battle of the War of Liberation, he was dismissed from his post. In the 1960s, he was unjustly persecuted and labeled a nationally renowned "revisionist," enduring severe persecution. However, relying on his unwavering loyalty to the Party, the people, and the revolutionary cause, Huang Luobin, each time he fell, rose again with even greater enthusiasm for revolutionary work, achieving greater merits and establishing the image of a pure Communist Party member.
