Features: In recent years, the incidence of coronary artery disease in our country has shown a significant upward trend, becoming a common disease that severely threatens public health. Its diagnosis and treatment are important clinical tasks for all colleagues engaged in cardiovascular diseases. To help standardize the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, we appropriately compiled and published the "Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Coronary Heart Disease in the United States" two years ago, which has been reprinted three times and has been well-received by cardiovascular clinicians. At the same time, it has also deeply encouraged us. Over the past two years, due to significant advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Heart Association (AHA) have successively made major revisions to the "Guidelines for the Treatment of Acute Myocardial Infarction" (1999 revision), the "Guidelines for Percutaneous Coronary Intervention" (2001 revision), and the "Guidelines for the Treatment of Adult Chronic Heart Failure" (2001 revision), objectively reflecting the current state of coronary artery disease diagnosis and treatment in the United States. Therefore, we have promptly revised and supplemented the original book. The newly published "Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Coronary Heart Disease in the United States (2nd Edition)" retains the two chapters on chronic stable angina and unstable angina, as well as non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction from the first edition, revises the three chapters on acute myocardial infarction, percutaneous coronary intervention, and adult chronic heart failure, and adds one chapter on surgical coronary artery bypass grafting based on the ACC/AHA "Surgical Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting" (2004 revision), covering the entire scope of coronary artery disease diagnosis and treatment.
