Features: 2005 was a turning point for Journal of Sinology. Starting from this issue, the layout of Journal of Sinology changed, with revised cover design, binding, and paper quality, making it visually more solemn and elegant. Of course, the changes in Journal of Sinology were not just superficial; they also reflected improvements in its content and character. Careful planning and editing were key to the transformation of Journal of Sinology. The journal aims to be broader in scope, more refined in writing, and deeper in substance. Beyond accumulating historical materials of sinology, it has further strengthened the theoretical aspects of sinological research. From ancient times to the present, there are countless works and articles in various languages carrying the history of sinology. Some sinologists have conducted in-depth and insightful research on Chinese culture, their theoretical insights being truly rare "stones from other mountains." However, theories that misinterpret or distort Chinese culture should not be blindly trusted. One of the tasks of Journal of Sinology is "selection"—we strive to distinguish between the essence and dross, allowing the true fire of scholarship to illuminate our vision. This issue is the last co-published by the Institute of Sinology at Beijing Language and Culture University and the Institute of Sino-Western Cultural Studies at Macao University of Science and Technology. We sincerely thank the council of Macao University of Science and Technology, led by President Li Xiangyu, and the Institute of Sino-Western Cultural Studies for their genuine support of Journal of Sinology. This invaluable support has connected Macao, which plays a crucial role in the exchange of Sino-Western culture and has unintentionally become a cradle for sinology in its development history, with scholars both domestically and internationally. This connection holds international significance and great academic value. It is clear that an internationalized Macao will serve as an important bridge and transit point for sinology and sinological research to gradually advance toward material prosperity. Additionally, starting from this issue, the Academic Editing Office of Zhonghua Book Company will take on more responsibilities in the editing and publication of Journal of Sinology. Through the meticulous and prudent editing work of the chief editor and editorial staff, Journal of Sinology will exhibit a more youthful appearance.
