He devoted his entire life to the field of art printing and currency. Utilizing over a decade of his spare time, he studied the principles of writing regular script efficiently and quickly based on the theories of Chinese calligraphers. He combined the summarized theories of regular script calligraphy with representative examples from calligraphers to compile and publish the standard practice books for the Ou, Yan, and Liu styles, as well as the structural practice book for the Liu-style regular script. After the "Cultural Revolution," his eldest daughter, Liu Lun, continued her father's legacy to compile additional standard practice books for other calligraphic styles. Since their public release in 1962, these practice books have accumulated millions of copies in circulation and remain consistently popular among calligraphy enthusiasts and learners.
