Features: The rapid development of the hotel industry has placed higher demands on hotel vocational education in China. Although some translated works and teaching materials on hotel management have been published domestically in recent years, they have effectively alleviated the shortage of teaching materials for hotel education. However, there are still few textbooks that truly meet the teaching needs of hotel management programs in higher vocational colleges. In this context, we have written this professional textbook in accordance with the requirements of the Higher Vocational and College Textbook Editorial Committee of the China Foreign Economic and Trade University, combining the characteristics and actual conditions of China's higher vocational education. We aim to contribute to the development of hotel management education in China. "Hotel Operations and Management" is a foundational course for tourism management and hotel management majors. This textbook comprehensively elaborates on the systematic theory of hotel operations and management, reflecting the principle of integrating theory with practice, and attempts to innovate in both content and form. For example, to enhance students' intuitive understanding of international hotel groups, the book not only introduces well-known international hotel groups and their brands in text but also adds brand logo graphics, making the teaching content more visual and practical. Additionally, the book includes dedicated chapters on some cutting-edge knowledge in modern hotel management, such as PMS systems and GDS systems. This textbook can serve as teaching material for hotel management and related programs in higher vocational colleges, as well as a reference book for self-study and training for hotel employees.
