At the same time, in line with the spirit of relevant WTO rules, to maintain a fair, just, and reasonable international trade and investment environment, and to express the attention of the Chinese government and industry to the international trade and investment environment, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Foreign Trade Law" and the "Regulations on the Import and Export of Goods," hereby issues the "Country Commercial Guide 2006" (hereinafter referred to as the "Guide"). To help Chinese enterprises, relevant institutions, and organizations better understand, master, and familiarize themselves with the trade and investment policies, systems, and specific practices of major trading partners of China, as well as the international market competition environment, in order to participate equally in international competition. At the same time, in line with the spirit of relevant WTO rules, to maintain a fair, just, and reasonable international trade and investment environment, and to express the attention of the Chinese government and industry to the international trade and investment environment, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Foreign Trade Law" and the "Regulations on the Import and Export of Goods," hereby issues the "Country Commercial Guide 2006" (hereinafter referred to as the "Guide"). The "Guide" focuses on introducing and evaluating the trade and investment environment of 25 trading partners of China, specifically involving: Egypt, Algeria, Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, South Korea, Japan, Russia, the European Union, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, and New Zealand. In 2005, the export volume of China to the above trading partners accounted for approximately 71.21% of China's total export volume. The "Guide" describes and evaluates the trade and investment environment of the listed trading partners in three parts: an overview of bilateral economic and trade development, an overview of trade and investment management systems, and trade and investment barriers.
