Features: The IELTS exam is a language proficiency test that must be passed for studying in Commonwealth countries. It comprehensively assesses candidates' language communication skills in four aspects: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. There are no purely vocabulary questions on the test paper, but the requirement for vocabulary is already integrated into the test. As we all know, vocabulary is the foundation of any language. Without a certain vocabulary base, it will directly affect the effective input and output of language, and this is also the biggest challenge faced by a vast number of candidates and English learners. This dictionary is specifically compiled to address this situation. Based on an analysis of past IELTS test papers and domestic and international IELTS teaching materials, the compilers have selected over 3,600 high-frequency words in the exam and basic IELTS vocabulary, along with synonyms, antonyms, and derived words, totaling over 20,000 words. Each entry includes English-Chinese bilingual definitions, aiming to help readers grasp the meaning of words more accurately through English definitions. Compared to other IELTS vocabulary books on the market, the greatest feature of this dictionary is that all listed words are accompanied by classic test questions and simulated test questions. This allows candidates to grasp words within a certain context rather than memorizing them in isolation. At the same time, they can consolidate and test their mastery of the words while doing the exercises. The sources of classic test questions include past IELTS exam papers, as well as past tests for the College English Tests Band 4 and 6, the English Majors Band 4 and 8, and postgraduate entrance exams in English. The simulated test questions come from various authoritative reference books, so this dictionary is also suitable for candidates of other English exams. Below each classic test question and simulated test question, there are explanations of key points and sentence meanings for candidates to refer to.
