Features: The cello examination pieces for amateur candidates of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music refer to the national examination repertoire and the cello examination pieces published by the Cello Professional Committee of the Shanghai Music Association. They are compiled based on the principles of being pleasant to listen to and play, as well as possessing artistic and technical value. The collection is divided into ten levels: Level 1 primarily involves first position, occasionally featuring second position; Level 2 requires proficiency in 1-4 positions; Level 3 requires knowledge of the middle clef, occasionally involving sixth position, and includes a piece adapted into a concerto, requiring vibrato; Level 4 introduces classical sonatas; Level 5 involves the use of thumb position; Level 10 allows candidates to waive the sonata requirement if they can perform the complete Saint-Sa?ns concerto.
For ease of learning, this set of sheet music also includes the scales and arpeggios for each level, as well as bowing techniques. The first set and second set for Level 9 are in C major; the first set and second set for Level 10 are in D major.
The examination serves as a report and summary of a student's recent learning progress. It is hoped that candidates will take it seriously, ensuring quality, as otherwise, the purpose of the examination is lost.
