Features: Reading is achieved through written form to achieve the purpose of language communication. It is by no means a passive language activity, but rather an active and dynamic process of cognition, judgment, thinking, and understanding. To obtain the necessary information, readers must use various skills to analyze, judge, and infer the content they read, identify the facts and viewpoints described by the author, grasp the central idea of the article, and understand the author's attitude toward things. In various English proficiency tests held in China, reading comprehension accounts for a significant proportion, which illustrates the importance of reading. However, from actual scores, for example in the College English Test Band 4 and Band 6, reading comprehension is often the part with the most lost points. This phenomenon reflects many issues, but we believe there are mainly two: first, the inability to properly master the techniques, strategies, and methods of English reading comprehension; second, insufficient foundation in English, limited reading volume, and shallow understanding of sentences and passages. To address this, we have written this book. The entire book explores the various skills, requirements, and characteristics of English reading from multiple perspectives and levels, analyzes them with examples, and includes targeted skill exercises, with the aim of improving readers' abilities in both problem-solving approaches and the depth of text comprehension.
