Features: The preliminary draft of this book originally contained over 260,000 words and included more than 60 articles. Considering the fast-paced modern society and the valuable time of readers, the editors cut out nearly one-third of the content, especially texts from over 20 years ago. The remaining 40 articles consist of some interviews or Q&A sessions, most of which concisely express the poet's experiences of trauma and poetic insights; another portion are prefaces written by the poet for his own collections of poems, which generally deeply reflect the poet's arduous journey in the realm of poetry; and some prefaces written for other poets' collections in recent years, which reveal certain aesthetic perspectives of the poet and thus became retained pieces. The poet's views on poetry were formed under specific temporal and spatial conditions, often holding only relative significance. Each poet has unique temporal and spatial conditions, and their understanding of poetry will not be entirely the same. Therefore, summarizing the poetic views of different poets should be aimed at mutual understanding, supplementation, and discussion, enabling us to advance together, rather than creating novelty or establishing a basis for competition with others. This book, On Poetry, is compiled as a reference material. The editors hope it reflects the poet's 60-year of diligent cultivation and continuous exploration in the field of poetry, while also showcasing his pure heart in pursuing truth, goodness, and beauty.
