Publish Date: 2006-02-01
Features: Dance, an art form created by humans using human movement, can be said to be one of the most democratic art styles among various art forms. It projects human social survival status and emotional accumulation into every gesture, reflecting the depth and breadth of human society's culture. Chinese dance, as a traditional ethnic folk dance, further embodies this unique function of dance. This book is divided into several major parts: overview, chronicles, historical relics, biographies, and charts. It is published in separate volumes for each province (municipality, autonomous region), based on first-hand materials from actual investigations. It systematically records the history, current status, content, forms, styles, and evolutionary characteristics of ethnic folk dances in each province (municipality, autonomous region), as well as related seasonal customs, beliefs, and rituals. The inclusion of dances from each province (municipality, autonomous region) does not consider cross-sections or overlaps between them, aiming to ensure the accuracy of the data and preserve local characteristics. This book first systematically records the historical origins, evolutionary styles, performance forms, musical accompaniment, costumes, props, and related seasonal customs, beliefs, rituals, arts and crafts, and literature and archaeology of Inner Mongolia's folk culture, filling a gap in the historical records and research of Chinese culture.
