Features: This book embodies the efforts and wisdom of relevant departments under the Central Committee and the State Council, as well as some comrades and experts from various provinces and cities. On April 8 last year, following an important directive from Premier Wen Jiabao, the State Council Research Office took the lead in organizing a research survey on the issue of migrant workers. The survey has provided a comprehensive understanding of the history, current status, characteristics, and development trends of migrant workers in China, identified the key challenges they face and their causes, summarized the practices and experiences of local governments and departments in strengthening migrant worker management and services in recent years, and explored principles, approaches, and policy recommendations to address the issue. The research resulted in the "General Report on the Research of China's Migrant Worker Issue" and a series of high-quality thematic reports. This is an authoritative and comprehensive study on the issue of migrant workers in China in recent years, highly praised by leaders of the State Council and all relevant parties. Most importantly, it has laid a solid foundation for drafting the "Several Opinions of the State Council on Solving the Issue of Migrant Workers." The phenomenon of migrant workers will accompany China's modernization process, and there are still many issues to think about, explore, and solve. We have compiled and published these research findings, hoping that this book will help readers gain a comprehensive understanding of the issue of migrant workers in China and provide a reference for researchers from all walks of life.
