Features: "A Collection of Qu Discourses Through the Ages—A New Compilation of Classical Chinese Drama Theories" is a key project under the National Ancient Books Collection and Publishing Plan for the 11th Five-Year Plan. It has now been basically finalized, with a total of over 7 million words, collecting the qu discourses of over 250 qu theorists from the Tang and Song dynasties (the period of the formation of Chinese opera) to the late Qing Dynasty (the period of the transformation of Chinese opera). These include monographs or single commentaries by qu theorists (such as critiques, prefaces, letters, and various forms of poetry, qu, and qu theory), with nearly 120 monographs (the current largest "New Compilation of Classical Chinese Drama Theories" only includes 48 qu theoretical monographs). The single qu discourses on qu and opera amount to about 1.5 million words. The book is divided into four parts: the Tang, Song, and Yuan Dynasties, the Ming Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty, and the Late Qing Dynasty, and is accompanied by an "Index of Personal Names," "Index of Play Titles," "Index of Important Terms," and "Index of Qu Forms." It is printed in traditional vertical characters with modern punctuation marks. This edition, the Tang, Song, and Yuan Dynasties part, includes the qu discourses of 24 qu theorists, with over 17 monographs.
