Features: The 5th Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China pointed out in its "Proposal" that "China is in the critical stage of deepening reforms." Although China's economic system reform has made breakthrough progress and internationally recognized achievements, due to the imperfections of the socialist market economy system, the institutional shortcomings of deep-seated contradictions and issues in economic and social life have not been fundamentally eliminated. China's economic and social development is in a key period where the "golden development period" and the "period of prominent contradictions" coexist. Looking back at the 27-year history of China's reforms, people have every reason to be inspired by the great achievements of reform and social progress, which is the foundation for firm confidence in continuing deepening reforms. At the same time, people generally feel that certain deep-seated contradictions in reality still pose significant obstacles or constraints to economic and social development. Some of these contradictions are merely the continuation or further manifestation of the fundamental contradictions of the traditional system, while others arise from the differentiation of social interests and insufficient regulatory mechanisms during the economic transition and social transformation. The existence of these contradictions does not provide a basis for denying the achievements and choices of reform, but it is enough to demonstrate that China's reform still has a long way to go.
