Features: Compete without Competing, Win without Fighting. Tian Ji and Qi Wei Wang's horse race and gambling were truly efficient. The horses trained by Sun Bin were the black horses that emerged gently in competition. You can't win every battle, but you can strive in every endeavor. Here are two incidents of minor disputes, seemingly unrelated. One is: Madam Ma, who ran the market, was promoted to the Director of the Marketing Department. This was not only because she did an excellent job in her regular sales work but also because she often wrote summaries of work experience for the leaders and promoted them vigorously in the company, bringing about good economic benefits. When Madam Ma learned that there was a change in the position of Marketing Director, she took the initiative. The HR manager only looked at her work performance and gave up other candidates. The second incident is: After Xiao Ma was appointed as the Manager of the Brand Planning Department, the Marketing Manager, Da Ma, became very wary of him. Da Ma keenly felt that Xiao Ma's arrival was a threat to him. To protect his current position, Da Ma, who considered himself the company's "staple," often seized opportunities to speak ill of Xiao Ma to the boss. Although Xiao Ma was very angry in his heart, he avoided direct conflict with Da Ma with great restraint. Half a year later, Xiao Ma was officially appointed as the Assistant to the General Manager. There should also be a third incident, which is when Madam Ma and Xiao Ma met by chance and discussed their experiences on the topic of "How to defeat opponents of equal strength in workplace competition." Madam Ma, who was accustomed to showing her excellence, told Xiao Ma, who was accustomed to avoiding direct conflict with opponents, the story of Tian Ji's horse race. Tian Ji, the Minister of Qi State during the Spring and Autumn Period, was an efficient figure in the political arena at that time. For a while, King Wei of Qi wanted to race horses and gamble with him, so he had to agree. The rules of the horse race at that time were: Both sides placed bets, and the race was divided into three rounds, with the winner being the one who won two rounds or more. However, every time the race started, Tian Ji was the loser. Another horse race began. Tian Ji's advisor, Sun Bin, watched the race. In the first round, King Wei of Qi led out his top horse, and Tian Ji also led out his top horse. The result was that Tian Ji's horse was slightly inferior. In the second round, King Wei of Qi led out his middle horse, and Tian Ji also matched it with his middle horse. After the second round, Tian Ji's middle horse also lagged behind. In the third round, both sides used their lower horses to compete. Tian Ji's lower horse did not win against King Wei of Qi's lower horse. Sun Bin saw that the horses of both sides were actually quite evenly matched, so he whispered some advice to Tian Ji and strongly advised him to place a higher bet in the next round. Tian Ji and King Wei of Qi's horse race began again. In the first round, King Wei of Qi brought out his swift upper horse, but Sun Bin made Tian Ji bring out his lower horse. After the round, Tian Ji's horse fell behind. In the second round, King Wei of Qi brought out his middle horse, but Tian Ji matched it with his upper horse, and the result was that Tian Ji's horse came out ahead. In the third round, King Wei of Qi's last lower horse was left behind by Tian Ji's middle horse. This time, Tian Ji won the horse race with a two-win-one-lose record. Since Tian Ji placed a large bet as instructed by Sun Bin, he earned back all the money he had lost to King Wei of Qi in one go.
