How to treat a child's strabismus

Patient's question:

Female, 10 years old, her child said she can't see things clearly and has to look at them sideways. At first, I didn't take it seriously, thinking it was because she had been playing computer games for too long. Please ask; how is it treated if a child has strabismus?

Doctor's answer:

Treatment of strabismus, in clinical diagnosis, apart from accommodative esotropia entirely caused by excessive hyperopia and overconvergence, glasses can correct the strabismus entirely. For other types of strabismus, surgery is generally required for correction. Achieving good fusion function after strabismus surgery will help maintain eye alignment. Eye alignment can restore normal or improved stereopsis in some patients, especially intermittent or recently recurrent cases, with the hope of achieving good binocular single vision.
