Features: Currently, China has entered a new stage of development focused on building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and accelerating the modernization of socialism. The economic structure of our country is undergoing a strategically significant period of adjustment. Accelerating the development of the service industry and improving its role in the national economy; promoting the opening-up of the service industry and raising the overall level of service trade are inevitable requirements for achieving sustained, rapid, and healthy economic development. Against this backdrop, this book takes the development and opening-up of producer services and the service industry in China as its research themes.
In theory, producer services refer to market-oriented non-consumption services, that is, services that serve as intermediate inputs in the production of other goods or services. If services can be distinguished from general commodities as capital and consumer goods, then producer services undoubtedly correspond to services as capital goods. In extension, producer services refer to specific industries and trades related to them. In China, producer services are also known as "services for production" or "productive services." The producer service industry is a very important "sub-industry" cluster within the service industry, playing a crucial economic role.
