Features: Physics is a fundamental discipline. Here, "fundamental" should have two meanings: On the one hand, physical knowledge is the foundation for learning many other modern scientific and technological fields; on the other hand, the thinking, hands-on, and creative abilities trained and improved during the study of physics are also indispensable for learning other applied sciences and technical fields. A student must not only master a large amount of physical knowledge to excel in physics competitions but also possess strong problem-solving skills and excellent psychological qualities. Therefore, the work of cultivating top physics students is essentially a typical quality-oriented education, which is highly beneficial for improving students' innovative abilities. Since 1984, the Chinese Physical Society has held 22 national middle school physics competitions, with a cumulative participation of over 2 million students. This event has played a significant role in promoting physics learning among middle school students nationwide, especially those with a strong interest in the subject. This series consists of 5 volumes, with one volume for each grade from 8th to senior high school. According to the current national physics competition regulations, students should use this series with appropriate advancement. For example, in high school, students should complete the senior high school volume in their second year to participate in the physics competition that year.
