Features: With the development of China's economy and the increasing demands of people's material and spiritual lives, tea as the national beverage has garnered unprecedented attention. The research and application of Chinese tea culture in cultural industry development have demonstrated immense value and have received high from the government and society. This calls for our research fields to continuously expand and keep pace with the times, serving the central task of socialist economic construction through teaching and research, and should unhesitatingly take on the responsibility of promoting Chinese tea culture. Pu-erh tea, as part of China's green economy and cultural industry, is rapidly developing into a major economic and cultural highlight in Yunnan Province and even across the nation, much like other renowned tea products in China. Correspondingly, research on Pu-erh tea culture is also growing, though it started relatively late, it has accumulated significant depth. Nationwide, including in Taiwan and Hong Kong, research on Pu-erh tea has been quite extensive, but to date, many aspects still require further in-depth study, such as comparative research on Pu-erh tea and other Chinese teas in terms of tea science and historical-cultural backgrounds. Particularly, research on the influence of Yunnan's ethnic cultures on Pu-erh tea remains largely unexplored. Currently, the Pu-erh tea and tea culture industry is developing rapidly, urgently needing greater cultural support to achieve sustainable and healthy development and a soft landing. Where does the cultural foundation of Yunnan Pu-erh tea and the tea culture industry lie? It lies in Yunnan's history and ethnic cultures. Only by continuously enriching and deepening the historical and ethnic cultural connotations can Pu-erh tea become a distinctive brand for China and Yunnan, and can the Pu-erh tea and Chinese tea culture industry achieve broader development across the nation and the world. The main content of this book elaborates on and studies: the origin and analysis of Pu-erh tea, and scientific research (including cultivation, tea processing, quality identification, appreciation, selection, storage, preservation, collection, and medicinal health benefits); Pu-erh tea art and tea ceremony (including the art of brewing and drinking tea, and the spirit of tea ceremony); the historical and ethnic cultural aspects of Pu-erh tea, as well as its transportation and trade culture. The key focus throughout is the cultural characteristics and connotations that constitute the essence of Pu-erh tea. Continuing to study the connection between Pu-erh tea and ethnic cultures remains a key area of our future research. This book consistently adheres to the research method of historical materialism to conduct a scientific and objective study of Pu-erh tea. First, Pu-erh tea should be studied within the unique human geographical environment and historical contexts of Yunnan. Second, Pu-erh tea culture must be studied within the mutual influence and exchange between Chinese tea culture and Yunnan tea culture. Third, Pu-erh tea culture must be studied in comparative research with other tea cultures to identify the characteristics of Pu-erh tea culture and the fundamental influence of Yunnan's ethnic cultures on it. Only in this way can we truly understand, develop, and promote Pu-erh tea culture.
