Publish Date: 2005-06-01
Features: Primarily introduces Microchip's analog and interface products, detailing the issues to be noted when using different types of devices. It begins with an introduction to Microchip and its product overview, then covers Microchip's analog products, including thermal management devices, power management devices, linear devices, and mixed-signal devices. For each type of device, it is introduced according to the functions it implements, including model summaries, data sheets of typical devices, and application notes. Application notes are a highlight of this book, mainly addressing potential sources of minor and major failures in practical applications and their solutions, making their practicality irreplaceable by any textbook. The book concludes with an introduction to comprehensive application technologies and how to use practical tools. As a practical reference book, it features concise language, clear explanations, and detailed reasoning. To help readers deeply understand the basic analytical methods in the book, several typical application circuits are included. This book can serve as a reference for product development personnel and is also suitable for faculty and students of relevant disciplines in universities and colleges, as well as for a broad range of science and technology workers.
[Preface] The rapid development of the electronics industry is closely tied to the support of electronic devices, and devices are moving toward miniaturization and integration. Since its inception, Microchip has focused its resources on providing innovative electronic devices to the global embedded control market, positioning itself to offer complete embedded control application product solutions for consumer products, automotive, telephones, communications, and industrial control markets. During product development, hardware engineers require extensive experience, which is often not provided by textbooks or general reference books. To meet the needs of a large number of hardware engineers and provide strong support during hardware debugging, the purpose of this book is to offer a highly practical reference. The book is divided into 10 chapters, with the first two chapters introducing Microchip and its products. Chapter 3 categorizes Microchip's analog and interface products, and discussions on the applications of different types of devices begin from Chapter 4. Chapter 4 covers thermal management products, including temperature sensors and DC fan controllers. Chapter 5 focuses on power management devices, discussing voltage reference devices, linear rectifier devices, CPU/system monitoring devices, voltage detection devices, and battery charging devices. Chapter 6 covers linear devices, including operational amplifiers, comparators, and integrated devices. Chapter 7 discusses mixed-signal devices, such as successive approximation analog-to-digital converters, dual-slope analog-to-digital converters, display analog-to-digital converters, digital potentiometers, and digital-to-analog converters. Chapter 8 covers interface devices, including CAN controllers and infrared products. Chapter 9 is dedicated to comprehensive technologies, and Chapter 10 covers practical tools and other topics. The book is edited by Ku Yonghong, with the first five chapters written by Chen Jian and the last five chapters by Ku Yonghong. During the writing process, the book received support and assistance from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics Press and the 01, 02, and 03 grade graduate students from the authors' laboratory. The authors extend their gratitude to them all. Due to the authors' limited expertise, the book inevitably contains shortcomings and errors. The authors sincerely welcome readers' criticism and corrections.
