[Preface] Advances in science and technology have driven the continuous development of building equipment and electrical engineering technology. To enable a broad range of construction personnel to familiarize themselves with the basic knowledge in this field, this book, "Common Knowledge of Building Equipment and Electrical Technology," was compiled to facilitate construction personnel in quickly learning the material through self-study or short-term training, thereby improving the technical level of construction engineering. This book is one volume in the "Self-learning Series on Construction Engineering Knowledge." The entire book is divided into three parts, systematically introducing basic knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, air conditioning refrigeration technology, and heat sources in heating and ventilation engineering; basic knowledge of water supply and drainage engineering, including indoor water supply, indoor hot water, and building drainage; and basic knowledge of electrical engineering, including building electrical systems, building low-voltage systems, lighting, and electrical equipment. Chapter 1 was written by Zhou Yun of the China Textile Industry Design Institute; Chapter 2 was written by Zhang Zailiang of North China University of Technology; and Chapter 3 was written by Song Xiaowei of North China University of Technology. Luo Zhongzhao and Zhang Huifang of the China Architecture and Design Research Institute were responsible for guidance, compilation, and review. This book was supported and assisted by many experts, scholars, and peers during its compilation, with Wei Xinxin and Chang Xiangdong assisting in organizing some of the materials. Special thanks are extended to them. Due to the authors' limitations, any shortcomings in the book are sincerely hoped to be pointed out for improvement.
