Features: This book is designed for engineering master's students, agricultural extension master's students, veterinary master's students, landscape architecture master's students, as well as full-time master's degree-seeking teachers from universities and secondary vocational schools. Every year, several GCT Chinese pre-examination guidebooks appear in the market. Why do we still need to compile another book with a similar title? As a teaching assistant for the Chinese exam of engineering master's students, based on the practical experience accumulated from two years of pre-examination tutoring work and the feedback obtained from contacting a large number of candidates, we deeply feel that there are some shortcomings in the existing books on the market. The major ones are as follows:
1. The books only contain exercises, lacking concise introductions to the knowledge and principles related to the exam content, making it difficult for candidates to review and prepare.
2. There is a lack of introduction to the characteristics and patterns of the GCT-ME Chinese exam, as well as explanations of problem-solving methods and techniques, making it hard for first-time candidates, especially self-study candidates, to understand the exam's approach.
3. Some books provide no answers or explanations for the questions, leaving candidates only knowing whether the answers are right or wrong but not why. These shortcomings not only inconvenience teachers during tutoring but also confuse candidates during their review. Thus, we were inspired to compile another teaching guidebook to address these issues.
The basic idea and approach for compiling this guidebook are as follows: closely focusing on the engineering master's Chinese exam, using representative questions to explain the exam's characteristics and patterns, introducing relevant knowledge and principles related to the exam points, and teaching problem-solving methods and techniques. This helps candidates understand the exam's features, grasp the relevant knowledge, master the problem-solving methods, learn to answer various common exam questions, and apply what they have learned to handle different types of questions with ease.
For the comprehensive knowledge section, with its wide range of disciplines and extensive exam points, organizing the knowledge system and key points is a pressing need for candidates. To meet this demand, we have made preliminary attempts to outline the knowledge systems and key points of disciplines such as history, geography, biology, military science, and law, providing them to candidates. However, due to their length, it is difficult to include all of them in this book. Therefore, the main parts are available online for candidates to review, while only the comprehensive knowledge exercises are retained in this book.
We hope that our efforts will be of some help to candidates in their review and preparation. We sincerely wish all candidates success in their exams.
