What's the reason why my period hasn't come this month?

Patient's question:

My period came last month on the 11th. Every month it's about two to three days early, but it's always very regular. It should come around the 8th or 9th this month. I had intercourse on the 23rd, 24th, and 29th last month, and I didn't use any birth control measures. A few days ago, my breasts were sore, and recently my nipples look a bit darker and feel a bit stuffy. Sometimes my stomach feels a bit, and I've been urinating more frequently. I feel very tired. What could be wrong with me? I'm very urgent. Thank you, doctor.

Doctor's answer:

The menstrual cycle of a woman is generally 28 to 30 days. If it advances or delays by about 7 days, it is still within the normal range, as the length of the cycle varies from person to person. However, if menstruation does not arrive after more than 7 days, it is considered delayed. The main reasons for delayed menstruation should be considered from two aspects: first, pregnancy, and second, menstrual disorders. Generally, a pregnancy test can be used to detect whether one is pregnant 14 days after intercourse. After sperm and egg meet and combine, it usually takes 10 to 12 days for implantation to occur before hormonal changes in the body become apparent.
