Is it gestational diabetes?

Patient's question:

Health consultation description: I had a glucose tolerance test at the hospital yesterday. Fasting blood sugar was 4.0, 1 hour 10.07, 2 hours 7.7. Is this within the normal range for gestational diabetes? I would appreciate your help: Hello, how can this range of values be verified as gestational diabetes?

Doctor's answer:

Diabetes during early pregnancy can occur in two situations: one is diabetes already diagnosed before early pregnancy, referred to as "diabetes split early pregnancy"; the other is normal glucose metabolism before early pregnancy or potential glucose tolerance decline, with diabetes reappearing or diagnosed during pregnancy, also known as "gestational diabetes (GDM)."
(1) Diabetic patients should confirm the severity of their diabetes before early pregnancy. For D, F, R-grade diabetes, the risk to both mother and child is significant once early pregnancy occurs. Breastfeeding is recommended, and early pregnancy should be avoided. If already pregnant, it should be terminated as soon as possible.
(2) For those with mild organic inflammation and well-controlled blood sugar, can be pursued under active treatment and close monitoring.
