What foods should not be eaten during breastfeeding

Patient's question:

The baby is five and a half months old. Previously, the milk supply was quite sufficient. Last week, after having diarrhea for a week, the milk supply decreased significantly. Looking up information, it says that the baby should be breastfed more. But now I am already working. How can I increase my milk supply so that the baby can be well-fed?

Doctor's answer:

Previously, milk supply was relatively sufficient. Last week, I had diarrhea, and after a week, the milk supply significantly decreased, which proves there's no major issue. You can resolve this through dietary adjustments.
For postpartum milk deficiency, it is recommended to consume:
1. Foods rich in Vitamin E;
2. Foods containing protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins, such as soy milk, milk, fish, meat, eggs, fresh vegetables, and fruits. It is advisable to eat more and drink plenty of soup, especially bone broth, fish broth, and kelp broth.
3. Beer. Drinking an adequate amount of beer after childbirth can lower the concentration of prolactin in the serum and promote milk production. It is hoped that this may provide some assistance.
