Features: First impression of Xiye was that she was a gentle and quiet little girl, sitting quietly and not speaking much. It seemed that her paintings and writings should be tranquil and serene, just like this little person. Soon, I received electronic files of Xiye's artworks shared by her mother online. Upon closer inspection of these paintings, I was greatly surprised and couldn't believe they were created by a 10-year-old girl. Xiye's artworks displayed a bold personality, rich textures, vibrant and intense colors, and an omnipresent boundless, imaginative childhood. How could this gentle and quiet girl possess such a rich and sensitive inner world? This made me very curious. I then had the opportunity to meet Xiye's first teacher, Xiao Chi, and Xiye's parents, and felt the profound and boundless love they had for their child. Only under such a sky of love could there be such free, brilliant, and soaring—butterflies. I hope the publication of this work will bring more joy to Xiye, and also to all children who love life and art.
