What are the reasons for a relatively small menstrual flow?

Patient's question:

Menstrual volume is low. Since getting married in 2008, the past treatment history and effectiveness: I didn't go for any check-up, just had an ultrasound which said the uterus is poorly developed. I want to have a check-up. The size of the uterus is 33.33.24. Hysterosalpingography was done and it was normal. What kind of help do I want: What does hysteroscopy check? Do I need to have this check-up?

Doctor's answer:

Menstrual hypomenorrhea refers to a normal menstrual cycle with each period lasting less than 3 days and a blood flow volume of no more than 20ml per cycle. The blood flow color may be pale or dark. The general causes of menstrual hypomenorrhea include:
1. Hypofunction of the pituitary gland, leading to insufficient estrogen secretion by the ovaries, which results in inadequate endometrial proliferation.
2. Inflammation of the uterus itself, such as poor endometrial development, endometrial tuberculosis, or damage to the endometrium caused by rough (D&C).
3. Individual differences.
It is recommended to visit a regular hospital's gynecology department for hormone level tests and other relevant examinations. Treatment should be based on the examination results to address the specific condition.
