Features: Bram Stoker (1847—1912) is known as the "Father of the Vampire" for his novel Dracula. This horror novel was inspired by the mysterious ruler of the 15th-century Wallachian Principality, Vlad III, creating a night king who embodies nobility, wisdom, evil, and tenderness. Bram Stoker thus became the pioneer of vampire novels, influencing generations of writers, with his works continuously adapted into classic films. Named after his name, the Bram Stoker Award is the highest award in the horror genre. Contemporary American writer Stephen King, among others, has received this award. Dracula tells the terrifying tale of an evil vampire. In the Eastern European vampire homeland—Transylvania—a young British lawyer named Jonathan arrives, sent on real estate business to meet Count Dracula. However, soon after, Jonathan discovers that the handsome count is actually a vampire, and he himself has been trapped and becomes a target. Later, he seizes an opportunity to escape the castle but suffers greatly in body and mind. Meanwhile, in England, Jonathan's fiancée Mina and her friend Lucy, who are on vacation at a seaside resort, also encounter frequent incidents due to the influence of the vampire Dracula. Soon, Dracula begins to seduce Lucy, leading her to wander through cemeteries in her sleep and eventually die. Yet, after her death, she too becomes Dracula's kind, feasting on the blood of children. With the help of Dr. Van Helsing, they destroy the vampire Lucy, who was in fact a vampire, and relentlessly pursue Dracula, dismantling many of his lairs in London, engaging in a battle of wits, and ultimately eradicating this evil vampire. The entire novel features a thrilling and eerie plot, an atmosphere of dread and terror, leaving readers shaken, indignant, and deeply contemplative. In the spring of 1875, Jonathan Harker travels to Transylvania on official business to visit Count Dracula. Jonathan actually doesn’t want to go, as he is to marry his beautiful Mina in a few months and doesn’t want to leave her. During his stay at Dracula’s castle, he insists on keeping a diary, writing more and more horrifying events each day. Why can he only see Count Dracula at night? Why doesn’t he see him in the mirror? Who is the beautiful woman with blood-red lips and sharp fangs who visits his room at night? Back in England, Mina and her friend Lucy are staying in a small seaside town. She eagerly awaits Jonathan’s letters, but he has no news, and Mina begins to fear for him. Perhaps Jonathan is ill, or he is in danger. Of course, Mina doesn’t worry about herself or her friend Lucy. Living in a quiet seaside town in England, what dangers could possibly befall these two young girls?
