Features: Membrane separation technology is an emerging high-tech field. Although humans discovered it as early as the 18th century, significant advancements in membrane separation technology have only occurred recently. The vitality of membrane technology lies in industrial applications. Therefore, as the application of membrane technology becomes increasingly widespread, engineering issues related to its application are becoming increasingly important. These engineering issues primarily include the design and optimization of membrane separation equipment and the design and optimization of membrane separation processes. The tools used to address these two major themes are all common methods in chemical engineering, such as balance equations, transport rate equations, similarity and analogy methods, and semi-empirical methods combined with experiments. However, these methods are distinctly different from the thermodynamic methods used to study the mechanism of membrane separation, as they are more focused on engineering practicality!
