Features: Drawing is a frozen memory (a certain space, time, and emotion). Compared to this, sketching is one of its important forms, permeating various expressive methods, and serving as a supporting element for shaping. As the most direct means of shaping, sketching's language is free, simple, and powerful. It expresses objective objects and inner experiences in a modest form, focusing on the pursuit of the essence of art. "Sketching" is a discipline that studies the basic laws of shaping. It is both a basic means for creating sketches and collecting materials, and an independent artistic expression form. As one of the most fundamental and important foundations in the field of shaping art, sketching generally refers to monochrome paintings created with painting tools. Throughout the history of art, from ancient cave paintings to patterns on colored pottery, sketching has been highly free in both its expressive methods and the choice of medium. To some extent, it is also the core of many painting forms. In different historical periods, with the evolution and development of artistic concepts, its appearance and system have become diverse, and its expressive fields are extremely broad. This book focuses on exploring the scope of realistic sketching. In the current teaching system of sketching in art academies, the task of basic sketching teaching is to cultivate students' understanding and comprehension of the essence of object shapes through systematic and rigorous realistic training, enabling them to deeply and solidly master shaping and aesthetic abilities.
