Features: This is a project led by the renowned Chinese folk culture scholar Professor Ou Dayan, with participation from famous folk culture researchers in Handan. This volume includes 15 reports, 8 of which are on temple god rituals and performances, and 7 on family histories and folk customs. This book is part of Hebei Province's "North China Rural Folk Culture Research" series. Further studies on other regions are planned. All these items are research reports written by local scholars about their own hometown villages. Below is a brief introduction to the key points of these reports, including emphasis on certain content. Due to my personal special interest in this or its novelty, my overview is written in the past tense, as most of these rituals and customs have faded from real life, unless there is concrete evidence to the contrary.
