Features: Psychiatry is a branch of clinical medicine. It is a discipline that aims to study the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, developmental patterns of various mental illnesses, as well as their treatment and prevention. To meet the needs of clinical medicine education for undergraduate and graduate students, we have organized senior, middle-aged, and young instructors in this discipline to meticulously compile this textbook. Building upon the classic content of the previous edition, we have appropriately added or deleted certain chapters based on changes in the spectrum of mental and psychiatric health issues, as well as relevant developments domestically and internationally, and incorporated the new classification system for mental disorders. The book is divided into 26 chapters, introducing common clinical mental illnesses. Considering the growing international concern and emphasis on the rights of patients with mental illnesses, we have dedicated a separate chapter to discuss legal issues related to mental health. Additionally, recognizing the importance of mental illness nursing, we have specifically added a chapter on mental illness nursing for discussion. Furthermore, we have revised and supplemented the content of past chapters to reflect the current level of psychiatric knowledge.
