What to eat after an abortion

Patient's question:

What should I do if I get pregnant unexpectedly? The harm is relatively small. What should I eat after an induced abortion?

Doctor's answer:

It is best to consider a conventional surgical procedure for miscarriage. Medical abortion is prone to incomplete miscarriage, which can lead to severe bleeding. Painless abortion can easily cause uterine perforation. It is recommended to undergo a hysteroscopic-guided Dilation and Curettage (D&C) procedure, as there are no residual tissues post-surgery, thus preventing severe bleeding. This is the safest method for miscarriage.
If the gestational age is less than 49 days, medical abortion can be considered. If it is greater than 49 days, a surgical abortion is required. If the pregnancy exceeds 14 weeks, induction abortion is necessary. It is advisable to terminate the pregnancy before 14 weeks.
