Features: The course objective of "Outline of Modern Chinese History" is to enable contemporary college students to understand and master the basic knowledge and theories of modern Chinese history, to familiarize themselves with the country's name and conditions, to correctly recognize the laws of social development in China, and to deeply comprehend how history and the people chose Marxism, the Communist Party of China, and the path of socialism. This aims to inherit and carry forward the fine traditions of the Chinese nation, strengthen the belief in following the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and enhance the sense of mission for reform and opening-up and revitalizing China. It also improves the ability to consciously apply the Marxist stance, perspective, and methods to understand, analyze, and solve practical problems. This "Outline of Modern Chinese History" was specifically written as a new textbook for undergraduate students, in line with the aforementioned "Opinions" and "Implementation Plan," and based on the new curriculum textbook writing outline of the Ministry of Education's 2005 plan.
