Patient's question:
I have an itchy lower body, and my underwear is always yellow. What's going on? Can trichomoniasis be cured?Doctor's answer:
Trichomoniasis vaginitis can be cured. Metronidazole (Flagyl) 200mg, oral, three times daily for 7 days constitutes one course of treatment; 1% lactic acid or 0.5% acetic acid or 1:5000 potassium permanganate douching or sitz bath for the vagina, once daily, followed by applying 200mg of metronidazole to the vagina. Alternatively, you may choose to use Trichovag or Carbarsone. Note: Both partners should be treated simultaneously.
