This textbook (Student Book) consists of fifteen lessons, with topics covering daily life and social life, striving for lively content and natural language. Compared to the first volume, the second volume expands the types of texts, in addition to general dialogues and narratives, it also includes news reports, interviews, letters, diaries, TV interviews, advertisements, charts, poems, and jokes, etc. Like the first volume, three lessons (Lesson 5, 10, and 15) are dedicated to exploring how to learn German (Das Lernen Lernen), aiming to motivate students' learning initiative and enthusiasm, explore interactive teaching methods, and cultivate good learning habits and scientific learning methods. Some texts and exercises in the second volume are more challenging, encouraging students to use their imagination and engage in classroom discussions, thereby fostering scientific thinking methods and logical reasoning skills. In terms of grammar writing and arrangement, it still adopts the German "valence grammar" and scientifically combines it with "traditional grammar," but the pace is slightly slowed down to enable students to more purposefully and more easily grasp the complex grammar rules. At the request of users, Contemporary University German has added multiple listening exercises. In addition to the supplementary material H?ren und Sprechen, each lesson includes listening texts or dialogues, accompanied by corresponding audio materials.
