Features: Moritz Moszkowski, born in Breslau, Germany in 1854, was a renowned Polish pianist, composer, and conductor. He studied at the Dresden and Berlin Conservatories and later taught in Berlin for many years. At the age of nineteen, he successfully embarked on a concert tour across Berlin, London, and various parts of Europe. In his later years, he resided in Paris for a long time and passed away there at the age of seventy. As a composer, he excelled in writing light-hearted music, while his serious works were less original. He composed the opera Bouvard, the Last Moor (1892), the ballet Lorraine (1896), the symphonic poem Jeanne d'Arc, Fantastic March, two orchestral suites, a piano and violin concerto, and some incidental music for plays. Moszkowski also wrote many popular piano pieces, which had a wide audience and were enjoyed by both refined and general audiences (often performed in salons), such as Op. 12, the two volumes of Spanish Dances for four hands, which are rich in exotic descriptive qualities, as well as some piano etudes.
