Features: This collection is the result of the National Social Science Fund Project and the Ministry of Education Social Sociology Base Project "Research on the Identity of Social Members" led by Professor Zhang Jing. This volume consists of eight independent essays, covering two parts: theoretical methods and case studies. The focus of the essays lies in the identity and changes of ordinary people toward a particular social identity and its rules, including the sources of its influence, especially the impact of values and (sociohistorical) structures. In the coming years, we plan to complete some new works in this field and publish them in collections, although there is a possibility of shifting the research focus to the concept of social justice and its institutional foundations. In the theoretical methods section of this volume, several essays adopt different perspectives, discussing the issue of "identity" from the angles of political sociology, social philosophy, and methodological concepts.
