Patient's question:
I am very scared when this happens. I often experience lower abdominal pain and don't know how to solve it, so I came here to consult. Is it normal for lochia to have a faint fishy odor one week postpartum?Doctor's answer:
In your case, it may be postpartum lochia profuse, which is often caused by a deficiency in spleen qi, or spleen deficiency after pregnancy, leading to an inability to control the Chong Mai's blood; or postpartum uterine emptiness with cold invasion, resulting in blood not returning to its proper channels. You can use Shenghua Granules for treatment, which is quite effective. Massage methods can also be used for treatment:1. Place one hand behind your head. With the other hand, massage the chest from the inside out in a circular motion. Once you feel the skin slightly warm, switch hands to massage the other side.
2. Warm compress and massage the breasts: Before going to bed each night, apply a warm towel to both breasts for 3–5 minutes, then use the palm of your hand to massage around the breasts from left to right, 20–50 times.
Massage once a day using the above methods. You can also eat more gelatin-rich foods like pork trotters, sea cucumber, and pig feet to promote breast development.
