The National Medical Examination for Practitioners in China was implemented in 1999 in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Practice of Medicine" and the "Interim Measures of the Ministry of Health on the Medical Examination for Practitioners." This system holds profound significance and plays a tremendous role in strengthening the construction of medical personnel and improving their professional quality and ethical standards. The National Medical Examination for Practitioners consists of two parts: a medical comprehensive written examination and a practical skill examination. The written examination is uniformly prepared and organized by the National Medical Examination Center, while the practical skill examination is implemented by provincial-level medical examination for practitioners leadership groups. The practical skill examination is a strict entry system for joining the medical profession, evaluating whether applicants for practitioner and assistant practitioner qualifications possess the essential basic skills required for practice. It is a crucial component of the entire National Medical Examination for Practitioners.
To enable candidates to systematically and accurately master the content of the National Medical Examination for Practitioners, especially the basic knowledge, basic operations, and basic skills required for the practical skill examination, and to achieve standardized and standardized practical skills, we have written this book, "Pass the TCM (Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine) Practitioner (Assistant Practitioner) Examination Guide—Practical Skills," based on the newly formulated "Outline for the Practical Skill Examination of Practitioners" by the Medical Examination for Practitioners Committee of the Ministry of Health. The book aims to provide a concise overview, highlight key points, cover comprehensively, and serve all candidates.
Guided by the "Outline for the Practical Skill Examination of Practitioners" and the latest textbooks, with clinical practice as the focus, the book strictly follows the scope and depth of the examination for review guidance, emphasizing the cultivation and training of candidates' thinking methods and problem-solving abilities. It covers clinical basic operation procedures, making it suitable for pre-examination training for TCM and integrated Chinese and Western medicine practitioners (assistant practitioners). Due to the varying writing styles and character simplifications of the contributing authors, as well as the urgency and limitations of time, any shortcomings or inappropriate points in the book are sincerely requested to be pointed out by colleagues and candidates for timely correction, so that this book can better serve as a trusted teacher and companion for all candidates.
