Features: Sketching is an independent art form within the field of painting. As an important part of the fundamental training in sketching, sketching portraits hold great significance for students learning fine arts. Sketching portraits are not only an indispensable component of learning sketching, but also one of the key methods used by higher art colleges and comprehensive university art departments to assess students' hands-on skills. Learning sketching portraits can not only enhance students' observational and shaping abilities regarding figures, but also deepen their understanding and analysis of sketching itself. Therefore, mastering how to draw sketching portraits is particularly important in the process of learning the fundamentals of sketching.
In the process of learning sketching, students should follow the principle of "whole-picture observation, whole-picture approach, focusing on structural shaping as the foundation, and progressing step by step." Currently, many candidates' foundational drawing skills are acquired through short-term pre-examination training courses. The entire training process is highly goal-oriented, with everything geared toward passing exams, lacking the necessary systematicity.
To address this situation, after thoroughly studying and understanding the teaching syllabi and curriculum standards issued by the Ministry of Education in recent years, and incorporating the latest research findings in art education, we have combined practical teaching experience with the requirements of the college entrance examination in fine arts. Based on this, we have compiled this book suitable for young painting enthusiasts. Its purpose is to help young friends develop a correct understanding of the basic concepts, artistic forms, and expressive methods of sketching, thereby addressing several issues encountered in sketching learning and the fine arts college entrance examination.
This book is divided into 10 volumes, starting from the simplest geometric shapes and still life, progressing to plaster sculptures and portraits, and concluding with some exam-oriented content. In line with the basic principles of art learning, it introduces professional knowledge on using lines and shading to represent objects. Through clear and progressive lessons and exercises, it emphasizes systematic and standardized learning, enabling young friends and painting enthusiasts to master fundamental drawing skills and cultivate interest in sketching. This helps them break free from purely exam-oriented training, avoid unnecessary detours, and lay a solid foundation for an early career in the art world.
