45 days without a period, can you eat Motherwort?

Patient's question:

I have a particularly itchy lower body, and my underwear is always yellow. What's going on? Can I take Motherwort if I haven't had my period for 45 days?

Doctor's answer:

In your case, it may be due to cold deficiency and closed menstruation or cold deficiency and delayed menstruation. Insufficient nourishment due to blood deficiency, deficiency of Qi and blood in the Chong and Ren meridians, and emptiness of the blood sea after menstruation, combined with Qi deficiency and blood stagnation, can lead to impaired circulation and result in closed menstruation. It is recommended to use Wenzheng Granules for treatment.
This condition may be caused by cold deficiency, leading to dysmenorrhea. During the menstrual period and its surrounding days, pain in the lower abdomen or waist may occur, sometimes even extending to the lumbar and sacral regions. The pain recurs with each menstrual cycle. In severe cases, it may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, profuse cold sweat, cold hands and feet, or even fainting. Acupuncture, physical therapy, and massage methods can be considered for treatment.
