Features: The art of Feng Shui can generally be divided into two schools: the Form School and the Compass School. The Form School is now referred to as the Mountain Body School, while the Compass School is known as the Liqi School. The Liqi Feng Shui originated in Fujian, characterized by using the Five Elements' generation and control to determine auspiciousness and inauspiciousness. It became widely practiced during the Southern Song Dynasty. Practitioners of this method focus on the combination of yin and yang, generation and control, using the compass to determine the spatial orientation of yin and yang. They also employ the Bagua and Five Elements, along with flying stars, to calculate the generation and control of auspiciousness and inauspiciousness. This is essentially a method of calculating the temporal and spatial factors influencing a person's destiny based on the annual cycle and the orientation of the house or tomb, thereby divining the best choices. The Liqi method is based on the principles of the I Ching, using the Bagua, the twelve branches, the nine stars, and the Five Elements as its four major frameworks, making it more abstract and esoteric than the Mountain Body method, which focuses solely on the forms of mountains and rivers.
