Features: Moritz Moszkowski was born in Breslau, Germany, in 1854. He was a renowned Polish pianist, composer, and conductor. He studied at the Dresden and Berlin Conservatories and later taught in Berlin for many years. From the age of nineteen, he successfully toured Berlin, London, and various parts of Europe. In his later years, he resided in Paris for a long time and passed away there at the age of seventy. As a composer, he excelled in writing light-hearted music, while his serious works showed less originality. His compositions include the opera Pоловодье, the Last Moor King (1892), the ballet Lorraine (1896), the symphonic poem Joan of Arc, the Fantasy March, two orchestral suites, a piano and violin concerto, and some incidental music for plays. Moszkowski also wrote many popular piano pieces that had a wide audience and were enjoyed by both the elite and the masses (often performed in salons), such as Op. 12, the two volumes of Spanish Dances for four hands, which are rich in exotic descriptive qualities, as well as some piano etudes.
