Features: As is well known, dermatitis and eczema are common skin diseases in dermatology, accounting for about 20% of dermatology outpatient cases. Some scholars have found that the prevalence rate of eczema in the general population exceeds 10%. For such a common skin disease, our understanding of it is far from sufficient. Many physicians believe that dermatitis and eczema are too common, that anyone can treat them, but the reality is far from that. Clinically, we are often troubled by the frequent relapses or prolonged unresolved cases of eczema patients. Here, let us imagine a dermatology patient and consider whether we can answer the following questions:
1. What are the principles of etiological treatment for dermatitis and eczema?
2. What are the safety principles for treating dermatitis and eczema?
3. How should dermatitis and eczema lesions be staged for treatment?
4. What topical drug formulations should be selected?
5. What treatment plan should be adopted for first-visit patients?
6. What treatment plan should be adopted for follow-up patients?
7. What is the relationship between dermatitis and eczema and microorganisms?
8. What role do microorganisms play in the onset of dermatitis and eczema?
9. How should adrenal glucocorticoid hormones be used in dermatitis and eczema?
10. How are other drugs applied in dermatitis and eczema?
11. How should common dermatitis and eczema be treated?
12. How should the skin of dermatitis and eczema patients be cared for?
There are still many questions, but unfortunately, there are many issues that we cannot answer clearly yet. The reason for this phenomenon is the lack of a unified understanding of the concept of dermatitis and eczema. Due to the lack of a consistent concept of dermatitis and eczema, not only has the medical community in China conducted limited research on this common skin disease, but there is also significant debate internationally regarding this concept. To address this situation, this series of books provides detailed discussions on the concept, classification, relationship between dermatitis and eczema and skin structure, skin hypersensitivity, possible etiology of dermatitis and eczema, as well as classification, diagnosis, and treatment of dermatitis and eczema in three volumes. Some views may differ from current understanding, and any shortcomings are welcome to be criticized and corrected by dermatology colleagues.
