How should placenta previa be handled?

Patient's question:

I am very scared when this happens. I often experience lower abdominal pain and don't know how to solve it, so I came here to consult. Please ask how to handle low placenta placement.

Doctor's answer:

Placenta previa can easily lead to heavy bleeding during pregnancy. It is advisable to reduce activity and extend the pregnancy duration in the later stages to prevent early placental separation and severe bleeding. Hospitalization may be necessary for fetal preservation if needed. If placental abruption occurs, the pregnancy may need to be terminated prematurely or a D&C procedure may be performed. It could be caused by vaginitis, and medical examinations such as ultrasound, colposcopy, and leukorrhea routine tests should be conducted at the hospital. Local use of metronidazole suppositories and nystatin suppositories alternately, along with oral medications like amoxicillin-clavulanate potassium and fluconazole capsules, may be prescribed. It is important to maintain good local hygiene and prevent cross-infection.
